Kimakia forest hike is a beautiful hike in the aberdares ranges forest under the shade and crisp clean air of the trees. Along the hike trail there are river crossing and waterfalls. River crossing we get to dip our feet in the waters and feel the nature first hand. Being a dense forest, some of the wildlife we will get a glimpse of are birds, dikdik, and elephants. The hike trail is 17kms and with a trekking time of approximately 6 hours. Kimakia forest is about one and half hours from Nairobi CBD. Pic up point International life house Nairobi. Day starts early. We meet outside international life house, Nairobi CBD at 6am. We have a debrief and depart to Kimakia exactly 7am and start the hike at 9am. The hike trail is about 6hrs over 17kms and end at 4pm. We head back to Nairobi. What to bring with you. Wear sporty, thermal clothes and carry a change of clothes. For those who would like to swim at the waterfall carry swimming costumes. Have good comfortable shoes or hiking boots that have good grip. Hiking poles, hat and sunscreen are a plus. It might rain, carry a raincoat. A 2l reusable bottle of water. Snacks and fruits for energy Ensure you take lots of pictures. This is home where memories are made.
